What kind of lifestyle blogger would I be if I didn’t report my failures? However, since we are living life unabashedly; we shouldn’t live our life ashamed of our negative impacts in life.
So, the week has come to an end and I’m not pleased with the results. However, I will be telling you exactly what NOT to do when you start a diet. In the beginning, I was supper excited to begin this diet (still am), to bring you up to speed. My fiancé was out of town for work for about a month and he just made it home. As one could imagine the week was a celebration filled with laughs fun and family; if you are unfamiliar with the Hispanic culture you cannot just turn away food if it’s cooked, it’s like a sign that you don’t appreciate the food provided for you or at least this is what my fiancé has told me. He doesn’t care about my looks and tells me I look great. However, we all know that’s sweet but we want to have the dream body or health we always wanted.
During the work day, I had no issues sticking with the plan. I strictly ate the foods I prepared to get me through the work day. I will admit I was very hungry, had headaches and I was very moody (common symptoms of a very low calorie diet). Once the work day was completed, I would go home to prepare my dinner. My fiancé walks in either with food, his mother would have cooked and made me a plate or my fiancé would request to eat out!
The entire week I was surrounded with temptation! Now, my family is not the only reason behind such a tragic week. At work, I have a sister (work adopted sister) whom is a LVN; she told me that she was going to start the diet with me because she has her on personal goals. I was supper excited to have a partner to do this with. Well she totally forgot about the plan, I didn’t have that extra push to help me keep up with the goals we set during the week I still love her. She promised to start with me!
CAUTIONS IN DIETING
When dieting, you need to be aware of a few things before you begin.
- Make sure you there are no major events coming up that will force you to venture from your diet.
- Make sure you have full support and understanding from your family. Explain to them your goal and why.
- Log your food and progress. I find that if you write it down you are more knowledgeable of your intake apps are great but the original pen and paper is the clear winner this time.
- Make sure you are all in. It’s okay if you slip once but do not make it a habit.
- Never beat yourself up for not making the improvements you wanted to see. Remember it takes time. Just be consistent!
PLAN OF ACTION
So, my plan of action will be to repeat Week 1. Now, that my family is on board and aware of my goals and plans. I believe this will be a very productive week. I look forward to bringing you the results a week from today! I am not going to give up!
